Guided tour of the historic stone cellar - the largest lithography archive in the world - in German and English.

9 am departure until 7 pm: Excursion to the quarry in Solnhofen (fully booked)
Solnhofen Plattenkalk is the name for a rare natural stone, which is colloquially often referred to as Solnhofer plates. Solnhofen Plattenkalk achieved great prominence and use through the invention of lithography (image printing for books, maps, etc.) by Alois Senefelder, for which the fine grain of Solnhofen Plattenkalk was a prerequisite. Even today, the Solnhof quarries are the only supplier of this precious stones.
