1 pm: Beginning of Lithography Days at the state office for digitisation, broadband and surveying

Exhibition of the International Senefelder Foundation. Welcome: Manfred Popp, LDBV and Prof. Dr. Claus Hip, Munich Künstlerhaus. Introduction: Prof. Dr. med. Gerhard Kilger, CEO of the International Senefelder Foundation.
Guided tour of the historic stone cellar - the largest lithography archive in the world - in German and English.

Thursday,  30th August

9 am departure until 7 pm: Excursion to the quarry in Solnhofen (fully booked)
Solnhofen Plattenkalk is the name for a rare natural stone, which is colloquially often referred to as Solnhofer plates. Solnhofen Plattenkalk achieved great prominence and use through the invention of lithography (image printing for books, maps, etc.) by Alois Senefelder, for which the fine grain of Solnhofen Plattenkalk was a prerequisite. Even today, the Solnhof quarries are the only supplier of this precious stones.
